Heavenly Mountain Resort Ready for Snow
Skiing Magazine October 2007 ranked Heavenly No. 10 in North America for Top Mountains and No. 2 for Party Spot. With its Master Plan Amendment recently approved, visitors can look forward to new lifts and on-mountain restaurants to enhance an already exceptional experience. The new Olympic Express detachable-quad chairlift will provide access to three new trails, the famous Nevada Woods and will turn an 11-minute journey into a three-and-a-half minute ride moving 1,000-feet-per minute with a 2,400 person capacity per hour. Also new is the Heavenly Sky Flyer, a 50-mph thrill ride from the top of Tamarack Express back to the top of the Gondola, a vertical drop of 525-feet and the longest zip line in the lower 48 states at 3,100 feet.

Reno Cabela's to Open in November
Cabela's, known as the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, will open its newest destination retail store in Reno on Friday, November 16. The 125,000 square-foot store will include animal displays in museum-quality dioramas, as well as an aquarium and a mountain complete with waterfalls, stream and trout pond. It also will feature a laser arcade, furniture department, gun library, restaurant, general store, fly fishing area and gift shop. Cabela's stores are known as premier shopping and tourism destinations, drawing visitors from the local area and from miles away. Up to three million people could visit the Reno store annually, making it one of the top tourist attractions in the state.

Carson City Features "Guys and Dolls"
The Western Nevada Musical Theater Company will present "Guys and Dolls" at the Carson City Community Center on weekends November 3-18. This comedic musical revolves around Nathan Detroit, who organizes a floating craps game in New York City. When Nathan needs to raise money for the game he makes a bet with fellow gambler, Sky Masterson. Nathan bets Sky that he can't make the next girl he sees fall in love with him. Miss Sarah Brown is that girl and is a do-gooder who works for the Save-a-Soul Mission. Now high-rolling Sky must make straight-laced Sarah fall in love with him.
