Time Out for Shopping and Dining in Reno-Tahoe

Reno-Tahoe an Outdoor Shopping Mecca
When they talk about Reno-Tahoe as “America’s Adventure Place,” it’s not just about the mountains, lakes and rivers in the Sierra Nevada—it’s also about the shopping. Scheels All Sports, a sporting goods retailer with outlets throughout the country, opened its newest store September 27 in Sparks at the Legends at Sparks Marina, offering another reason for visitors to visit Reno-Tahoe to stay and play. The store boasts 248,000 square feet stocked to the ceiling with everything from bicycles and fishing rods, to baseball bats and canoes, a perfect destination for holiday shopping. The new Scheels comes on the heels of the opening of a 150,000-square-foot Cabela’s store northwest of Reno on Interstate 80. The specialty outdoor retailer opened one of its famed stores earlier this year, the 25th store in the chain, and the only store in the Nevada, California and Oregon regions.
